Rory Earnshaw was born in Swingin’ London in ’65. As a toddler, he was often found running after the Beatles and the Kinks with a small toy Polaroid “snap and shoot.” By the age of 4, he was always on the Press List (and guest list) at most venues.
His parents realized they had a possible behavior problem on their hands: Rory lived to shoot, and became obsessed with his toy camera. Finally, they obliged him and helped him buy his first camera with his paper route money. They thought they had appeased him. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The obsession continued. He was an accomplished photographer by the age of 12, and insisted that one day he would have his own studio: In America. He attended a prestigious photo school in Edinburgh, and graduated in ’85. Full of piss and vinegar, Rory came to the states with a Hasselblad and a vision: to shoot well, to shoot often, and to deliver what the client wants on time and on budget. His vision soon became a reality.
